A quadrilateral is a polygon with four sides. You already know several types of quadrilaterals — let's explore their properties.

There are several special types of quadrilaterals, each with their own properties:

Square
Parallelogram
Rhombus
Trapezium

Rectangle

  • All angles are ° (right angles)

Notice that a square is a special type of rectangle, and a rhombus is a special type of parallelogram. Every square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square!
